“Railway workers have been subjected to a three year pay freeze and prices are going through the roof.”
Alex Gordon, RMT President
Last week, Matt Willgress of Labour Outlook spoke to RMT President Alex Gordon about why the RMT has been taking action for the very future of our railways and their staff.
You can watch the full interview on Youtube below.
Alex explained about how “the dispute is about the fact that railway workers have been subjected to a three year pay freeze and prices are going through the roof,” adding that “there’s a cost-of-living crisis and it affects railway workers as much as it affects anyone else.”
In terms of showing our support and solidarity, he urged socialists and Labour members to visit their local picket line, and thanked all those MPs who defied Keir Starmer’s edict and showed support for the RMT on a picket line.
