“By organising together where we work, we can strengthen networks in our workplaces, towns and city centres.”

By the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS)

The Together Alliance, with the support of PCS, is mobilising nationwide to build a mass turnout for the national unity demonstration in Central London on Saturday 28 March.

The workplace mobilisation days on Thursday 5 February and Thursday 5 March are part of a unified effort to tackle far‑right populism and combat racism and divisive rhetoric in our communities and workplaces.

Workplaces are powerful organising spaces, colleagues already gather daily, making it easier to share information, build confidence and encourage one another to join the demonstration. By organising together where we work, we can strengthen networks in our workplaces, towns and city centres and inspire even more people to commit to attending.

Discuss with colleagues in your branch what types of activities would be appropriate for your workplace and its circumstances.

Ways to build commitments:

  • Hold a workplace meeting about the Together Alliance, the march, and why confronting far‑right narratives matters, then invite colleagues to commit to attending.
  • Take a group photo with posters and stickers to motivate wider participation.
  • Share leaflets and stickers with clear information on how to sign up and join transport.
  • Invite colleagues to attend together and coordinate shared transport arrangements.

New bitesize training

If you would like to find out more about how to approach challenging conversations, PCS and the TUC have created Challenging Conversations: Shifting the Narrative, a new one‑hour bitesize training session for reps and advocates. Branches should contact their allocated (PCS staff) organiser or regional secretary, or the education and learning team at learningacademy@pcs.org.uk, to request a date for the training session to be delivered.

Workers against the far-right organising conference

Join trade unionists, activists and community organisers on Saturday 21 February, 11:00am – 4:30pm for a day of workshops, strategy sessions and discussion on how we can collectively challenge the rise of the far right.

Hosted by Stand Up To Racism and the TUC, this conference will focus on practical organising in workplaces and communities, building unity, and preparing for the national unity demonstration on 28 March 2026. Central London venue: To be confirmed.

For enquiries about registration fees or transport arrangements, please contact your regional secretary. Alternatively, you can email campaigns@pcs.org.uk for assistance.
