“The UK has the worst statutory sick pay scheme in the developed world.”
By Dr. Emma Runswick
The Government’s Employment Rights Bill is an important chance through Parliament to improve the lives of workers.
We must ensure this includes improving statutory sick pay.
The UK has the worst statutory sick pay scheme in the developed world.
Lack of sufficient sick pay forces some workers with contagious illness to come to work, further spreading infections such as flu and COVID-19, which makes everyone less safe.
That is why Strike Map, alongside many sister unions, like the British Medical Association (BMA), have joined the campaign for Safe Sick Pay.
Our growing campaign is asking the public to email their MP and ensure we get the support we need to improve sick pay for all.
Please click the button below and take action today. We will be in touch as the campaign develops, so you can help us deliver meaningful change for all workers.
