“Politicians across the political spectrum have demonised the Muslim community and pinned the failures of government policies onto migrant and minority communities.”

The far-right is targeting Black and brown people across the UK – and we must stand together.

It’s not only the far-right and fascists such as Tommy Robinson and the ‘English Defence League’ who are responsible – it’s our politicians and the mainstream UK media who have made racism acceptable again, yet are now throwing their hands up in shock.

Politicians across the political spectrum have demonised the Muslim community and pinned the failures of government policies onto migrant and minority communities – and rather than challenging divisive, racist figures, the media has amplified them.

But the truth has always been that when politicians play the race card, it’s minority communities who pay the price.

Stand with us against racism, and anyone who upholds it – watch and share our video on social media.

The decisions of those in power have created a breeding ground for fascism and racism: decisions which have widened inequality and deepened poverty through precarious jobs, a lack of housing, and austerity measures that have gutted communities.

From Mosley and his Blackshirts in the 1930s, to the National Front and British National Party in recent decades, we – ordinary people – have again and again stood up against racism and fascism. We must now do so again.

Tell racists and fascists that they are not welcome in the UK.

When politicians fail to provide hope and solutions in the face of a cost-of-living crisis, growing inequality, and climate breakdown – it is far-right populism’s offers of walls, fences, white supremacy – of hatred – that take hold. Across Europe and the world fascists are all using the same playbook.

We have to mobilise and stand alongside minority and migrant communities – by organising both at factory gates and in our communities – to oppose those who seek to divide working people. Join the call.
