Restore the Whip to Jeremy Corbyn – Pass the CLPD motion!

“Jeremy Corbyn was reinstated as a member of the Labour Party on 17th November & we believe the Labour whip must also be restored.”

CLPD motion

By Jake Rubin. CLPD.

The Campaign For Labour Party Democracy opposes the anti-democratic decision to remove the whip from Jeremy Corbyn, a day after he was re-instated to Party membership on 17th November by a democratic sub-panel of Labour’s NEC.

We are encouraging party members to campaign to overturn this injustice by:

1) Moving the model motion below at Branch/CLP level, which could be raised as an emergency motion, calling for the restoration of the Labour whip to Jeremy Corbyn, for branches and CLPs to consider.

2) Sending a model letter that can be emailed directly to Keir Starmer by clicking on the button on the CLPD website here: https://www.clpd.org.uk/campaign/restorethewhip/ . You can also post the letter to Keir Starmer at Keir Starmer MP, House of Common, London SW1A 0AA

CLPD Model Motion: Restore the Whip to Jeremy Corbyn

To Keir Starmer, Angela Rayner, Nick Brown (Chief Whip) and NEC:

This Branch/CLP notes with concern the decision taken by the Leader of the Labour Party not to restore the Party whip to its former leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Jeremy Corbyn was reinstated as a member of the Labour Party on 17th November and we believe the Labour whip must also be restored.

We call on Keir Starmer to review this decision immediately and restore the whip to Jeremy Corbyn.
