"The only thing that will be left out of that budget apart from the bankers' caps are anti-trade union laws they will bring in against us."
"The Tory party is not only in chaos, its policies are a disaster for millions of the people... as they seek to hang on, there will inevitably be arguments for a caretaker figure who can replace Liz Truss and keep their party in power for as long as possible."
Labour MPs from the Socialist Campaign Group joined picket lines across the country, showing their support for CWU members fighting for fair-pay.
Hundreds packed out the Labour for Labour rally at The World Transformed. They joined Labour MPs including John McDonnell, Jon Trickett, Dawn Butler and Zarah Sultana; plus trade unions speakers and Labour left groups.
"Our members are striking for a pay rise that fully addresses the current cost of living. Our members need it, our members deserve it – the company can afford it."
“There’s no doubt that we were as solid as we could have been in the first industrial action – & I have no doubt that will be repeated on August 30th & 31st."
“Our members cannot & will not accept this massive lowering of their living standards – & their anger &determination have become stronger & stronger as this dispute has worn on."
