“As a union rooted in solidarity, we recognise that an injury to one is an injury to all. Standing together is the most powerful response to attempts to divide us.”
By the PCS Union
PCS is proud to support the Together Alliance Unity Demonstration taking place on Saturday 28 March in London and encourages members to attend to strengthen our collective voice.
This major national mobilisation will bring together trade unions, faith groups, community organisations, charities and supportive public figures in a show of unity against racism and the threat of far-right political ideology.
Communities and workplaces are experiencing a worrying rise in division, scapegoating and discrimination. These harmful ideas undermine safety, dignity and rights, and they have a direct impact on PCS members, particularly Black and migrant workers and all those targeted by hate.
As a union rooted in solidarity, we recognise that an injury to one is an injury to all. Standing together is the most powerful response to attempts to divide us.
The unity demonstration offers an important opportunity for PCS members to join thousands of others in sending a clear message that racism, bigotry and far-right politics have no place in our society. By coming together, we can show that the values of equality, respect and justice are shared across our movement and our communities.
PCS members will assemble from noon in Zone C within the trade union bloc, position 6, on Park Lane. Transport options are available from across the UK, and accessibility information is provided for those who need it.
Members planning to attend are encouraged to familiarise yourselves with the safety guidance set out in the PCS ARAF strategy and to review the PCS “bust card” to understand your rights when attending public demonstrations.
Last year saw the country’s largest ever far-right mobilisation, funded by high-profile billionaires. By contrast, the Together Alliance demonstration is powered entirely by grassroots support. Members who can do so are invited to donate to the Together Alliance Crowdfunder to help make the event as successful and accessible as possible.
Organisers are expecting a warm and welcoming atmosphere centred on unity and hope. The event will feature inspiring speakers and live music, creating a space where people from all backgrounds can stand together in solidarity.
Every PCS member who attends strengthens our collective voice. Whether you come with colleagues, friends or family, your presence helps demonstrate that our union is united and determined to challenge hatred wherever it arises. By joining the demonstration, you contribute to a powerful message of opposition to racism and support for a fairer, more inclusive society.
